Hi, my name is Mindaugas and I started skateboarding when I was 9. Back then it was really hard to find information about skateboarding and I spent too much time trying to figure out things on my own. A decade and a half later I decided to create this website in order to help others, who are just starting skateboarding and are looking for information.

The definitive guide to skateboarding

The goal of this website is to help people start skateboarding. You will find information on skateboarding history, a thorough description of skateboard’s anatomy, a list of safety gear and many more.

Eager to begin? The first chapter, Skateboard Anatomy 101, is available now! Start reading here

While some of the information is already available, a lot of it is still in progress. I am releasing the chapters one by one whenever I finish them. Existing chapters are also modified and updated frequently with the feedback I receive from readers. It’s easy to get in touch and if you see any mistakes, have input about the site, new content ideas, improvement suggestions, or just want to say hi, you can do so by shooting me an email to info@startskateboardingnow.com.

To stay up to date, never miss a chapter, hear about latest updates and enter competitions, subscribe to the mailing list. I rarely post more than once a month and I promise not to spam you ;-)

What do I need to start skateboarding?

To start skateboarding all you need is a skateboard and a pair of shoes. Skateboarding is very often a social activity, meaning that it’s most fun to do with your friends. However, some of the best skaters started alone in their driveways. Once you start skateboarding everything else sort of happens by itself.

A good place to start is by reading the first chapter — Skateboard Anatomy 101.

Never miss an update!
